Made in Italy - a Humanized and Collaborative Approach
From day one EBiT™ clothing has been Made in Italy.
From day one, Made in Italy 100%. From sketch to tech-pack, Clo3D, and back again to pencil drawings, via email, whatsapp, video meetings, and most importantly: in person factory visits. One thing is always constant:
We are human and we treat people in the way that we would like to be treated.
We began from a basement in Brooklyn, NY, during the pandemic, with video meetings developing EBiT™ garments Made in Italy, sharing values and purpose around mental health and obsession to craft the very best quality clothing with family owned Italian factories. Here below we provide an insight and background into the process, let's say 'behind the seams':
It began with physical socks to wear with virtual footwear (in project [E010]), and with t-shirts and denim as phygital twins to the virtual products sold in Yellow Trip Road (project [E022]). The virtual garments sold $50,000 in 24 minutes, and the physical garments were sold in the streets by local dealers for payment by cash or venmo.

The spirit of developing products during the pandemic, via video calls, for such unusual purposes, and always with the soul and ethos around mental health, created close human relationships which we still hold dear to this day.

This is Raffaella, presenting the first prototypes of EBiT™ socks, to be worn with the Spectrum of virtual Footwear [E010]. Physical socks, with virtual footwear.

We're essentially British people, that were living in Brooklyn, but with decades of luxury/fashion experience and therefore know that Made in Italy - when it's pure and correct - from artisanal family producers is absolutely the very best quality and craftsmanship in the world.
Now, based in Milan, we find it purposeful and provocative to be British people living here in Italy and committing 100% to manufacture in Italy, at a time when many Italian and luxury fashion houses have outsourced away from Italy to try to obtain better profit margins.
We develop close professional relationships with our suppliers, and in a transparent way share these relationships here. We visit and vet each factory, every season, and develop close meaningful human relationships. We are very serious about the quality and clothing we create, and the soul we put into it.
We know the exact human being who has created each EBiT™ garment, literally.
We know them personally. We have touched the same machines, walked the same corridors, felt the same fabric swatches, as them. We develop and produce with three key partners in Italy:
OTS, where we collaborate with Caterin, Raffaele, Ugo, Alberto, and many more in the production and technical teams.
Denim Service, where we collaborate with Marco, Alessandra, and many more in the production and technical teams.
LFG, where we collaborate with Silvia, Annalisa, Andrea, and many more in the production and technical teams.
Below are some images of the factories where EBiT™ is developed and produced - 100% Made in Italy, together with some of the more casual typical interactions during the process. We hope you enjoy this insight into the process (please forgive the background images of Simon's children, Bobbi and Zico, on the whatsapp messages!). Production and product development can be some of the most stressful disciplines of the entire fashion creation process due to the timing of deadlines, and of the complexity of mathematically putting together costing, patterns, fabrics, etc. So, we like to smile every now and again :-)
OTS srl
OTS S.r.l. (hereinafter “OTS”) is approaching 40 years Venetian arts experience in creating cut knitwear garments. Its production skills are rooted in small laboratories, essential for training and growth. Nowadays the company community goal is to preserve and pass down the Italian manufacturing tradition to future generations. OTS dedicates a space to its esteemed customers where all creative and productive needs are considered and satisfied. The company’s professionalism, reliability, precision, and punctuality, combined with care for sustainability, are much appreciated by the most renowned fashion companies.
It began in 1986 with the creation of Zeta Serigrafia, a company dedicated solely to screen-printing.

The new company management’s desire to grow and evolve led to redefining the corporate structure, and to the arrival of a new owner who drew up new strategic lines and a new industrial plan. The Research Office was developed in-house and then expanded to offer customers specific creativity , research on material and processes. Extreme quality and an immediate response to customer needs became the two main elements that, combined with a new process organisation, enabled OTS to become an international reference for what’s Made in Italy. The investment in human capital and new technologies enabled the company to consolidate its structure keeping most of the planning as well as prototype and sample design stages in-house; the modelling and prototyping activities were increased and fully renewed, with brand-new machinery in the printing workshop, and also launching its digitalisation process.
2018 - It implemented what is set forth in the Ritex ZDHC protocol (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) for the correct management of chemical substances used in Screen-printing.
It attained ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification in 2020.
2021 - It attained GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification, acknowledged as the most important international standard for the sustainable production of clothing and textile products, made with natural fibres from organic farming such as cotton and wool, and GRS certification, acknowledged as the most important international standard for the sustainable production of clothes and textile products made with recycled materials.

It attained ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems in 2022, then in 2024:
- OTS attained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification.
- OTS joined the ZDHC Level 1 programme.
- Work began on building the new production facility near the OTS headquarters.
This facility will enable OTS to bring some other production stages in-house. The new building will house the production cutters, a clothe manufacturing workshop, an ironing workshop, and quality control. The building’s upper floors will hold the Archive Museum of Garments and Prints, an important collection of tens of thousands or garments belonging to the OTS story from 1986 till now.
Today, OTS is an efficient, well-structured, cutting-edge company. Ready to welcome and address the new sustainability challenges, willing to be a useful technical and productive support for its customers, wanting to grow even further in the development of highly qualified, quality products and services. This growth and improvement have been sustained and shared with its supply network; one that is solely Italian guaranteeing a unique, exclusive manufacturing level, definitely appreciated by the international luxury Brands.

At EBiT™ we still sketch designs by hand, with pencil, measuring precise millimeters with a ruler.

Dominic Laurelli is at once a throw back sketching, multi-disciplinary, code defining creative director and designer, while simultaneously holding a progressive and coherent vision for what's coming. Having worked with Lee McQueen, Sarah Burton, Thom Browne, Dominic has been instrumental in the birthing of EBiT™ clothing direction.

Sometimes we also develop with Clo3D.
In collaboration with Matthew Mounsey-Wood, we often use Clo3D to automize the process of more complex garments (eg, the PSYCHO Jumpsuit) and reduce the trial/error process. This saves lots of time, costs, logistics expenses (not to mention the carbon pollution of logistics and transportation - always considering our responsibilities and impact on the environment).

Whether we communicate with pencil sketches, or Clo3D tech-packs and motion renderings. Whether we meet in videos, or over whatsapp messages, or in person at the factory.
We are human and we treat people in the way that we would like to be treated.
Professional, transparent, top quality craftsmanship, with dignity and respect, and with a smile :-)
